Our bedroom windows and verandahs command spectacular views of what you came to see — the City of Ithaca, Cayuga Lake, and the Cornell campus laid out before you.
Location, Location, Location
The Coddington offers convenient access to Cornell University and Ithaca College, as well as TC3s new farm to table Coltivare at the foot of our South Hill. The Ithaca College campus is our property line and a simple walk into our backyard, or pop over to Cornell in just a couple of minutes. City parks and waterfalls are within two miles. Buttermilk State Park, Treman State Park, the State Theater, Hangar Theater and Kitchen Theater are all within a few minutes and Taughannock State Park is ten minutes away.
Whatever you came to do is easily accessible from the Coddington Guest House. Ithaca’s finest restaurants are found on nearby Ithaca Commons, just a half mile downhill. The Coddington is perfectly situated for a day’s outing on the Cayuga Wine Trail or Seneca Wine Trail, followed by an evening of Ithaca’s theaters, thriving live music scene, and dining. And only a few steps from our door are convenience store, gas station, liquor store, pizzeria, family restaurant, and the South Hill Recreation Trail.
A Family Place too…
Two multiple-bed family suites are convenient for the additional persons in your party, and a smaller suite for singles or couples has a private entrance to a porch swing. All bedrooms have views of Cayuga Lake. Each suite is in a separate wing of the house, offering privacy from other suites. Children are warmly welcomed.
Regardless of which suite you stay in, you’ll find a surprising amount of relaxing elbow room, and of course, a great view!
A Sumptuous Breakfast
For bed and breakfast guests, our hostess will customize your morning meal according to your breakfast needs. If on the run ask about our non-breakfast rates, or enjoy a full sit-down experience, you’ll begin your day fully satisfied.
What’s the Italian connection?
This house has welcomed many first-generation Italian immigrants since they began to arrive in Ithaca at the beginning of the 20th Century. From large families to mail-order brides, many of these immigrants stopped first at 130 Coddington Road on their way to a more established existence. The Coddington Guest House honors those memories and traditions that were so much a part of the Ithaca community when its ranks swelled with hopeful strangers from afar. May these walls continue to be welcoming.
Short-term and long-term occupancy
The Coddington welcomes longer term visitors in one of our family suites, on a monthly basis, except in summer months. Call us for details.
